I'm angry that so much was missed with my past treatment plans. But instead of sitting in that anger, I instead used it as fuel to learn more and advocate for myself for better care. Sometimes the doctor in front of you isn't the best one for you. Don't be afraid the fire them and find a better one.
New blog post (see bio for link). Although I'm taking a break from doing IVF, I am still doing tests to see if there may be an explanation for my recurring pregnancy loss. I've done several tests this month that were never suggested by my previous reproductive endocrinologist. I suppose it's better late than never. My of blog post talks about the tests and my next steps.
After seeing a new local doctor the other day, she recommended I do a hysterosalpingogram test, also known as an HSG test. From what I understand they will use an x-ray machine to view my fallopian tubes and uterus using a dye to see things better. They will be checking to make sure my tubes are not blocked as well as checking the structure of my uterus or if there is any scar tissue.
Back to the drawing board, waiting to speak with a new local doctor. Not only am I talking to this new doctor, but also getting a second opinion tomorrow too. I am trying to figure out what is our next best step. In addition to these prospective local clinics I'll be calling CNY to set up a consult to see what they think is best. I'll be doing a blog post soon summarizing what each one says and what we decide.
💔 We are heartbroken, but we are healing. ☀️🌻
Thank you @myjourneywithivf for this great idea to post 4 pictures of something fun or something that made an impact on our life.
Instead of lucky socks, I wore my pineapple necklace during my FET. I thought this was really cute and it gave me something to hold on to when my nerves were starting to go up during the FET, kind of like a "grounding technique." It did make me feel a little better. Tommorow is my first blood test to see if I'm pregnant or not.
To test, or not to test, that is the question. Did you take a pregnancy test before seeing your provider? Were you happy with your decision? Comment below, your answers could help others decide.
Despite someone pulling the fire alarm right before my embryo transfer (see previous post), I was still able to do my transfer. And yes, I had to hold from going pee with a full bladder (required for transfer) while the fireman were inside for about 30 minutes.
